Hall House, a detached stone and brick cottage set off a quiet lane in its own enclosed grounds within the heart of Stokenham village, sleeps up to six in two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom and has parking for one large car or two small cars. The original stone built part of the cottage, which dates back to the 16th century, has a number of features including original exposed wooden beams, thick stone walls and an oil fired Nobel range cooker. The more modern extension includes a large living room with feature stone fireplace with a coal effect gas burner, triple aspect windows and french doors opening onto a private stone patio which leads to beautiful attractively planted terraced gardens and an open summer house with views to the village and sea. The cottage, full of character and on a number of levels, is dog friendly (within the lower part of the cottage) and is available all year round. Your dogs can enjoy the enclosed garden to the rear of the house.
ENTRANCE
The entrance lobby, an ideal place to leave coats, shoes, beach bags and surf boards has an archway through to a utility area with washing machine and table top freezer, which then leads to a shower room with electric shower, wash hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.
DINING ROOM
The heart of the old cottage is the cosy dining room which has exposed beams, an oil-fired Nobel range cooker (for use in autumn, winter and spring), two armchairs and wooden dining table and chairs for 8. Stairs from the dining room lead to the rest of the cottage.
KITCHEN
Off the dining room, the bright kitchen with dual aspect windows is well equipped with all cutlery, crockery and pots and pans for 6 people. It also has a microwave, fridge, oven / hob, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. There is a part glazed stable door to the rear garden.
BEDROOMS
Hall House has 3 bedrooms. A double room and a twin room, leading off a staircase from the dining room, are in the original section of the cottage. These rooms have lots of character with stone walls, exposed timbers and sloping floors! The second double room is in the modern extension. All rooms have wardrobes (half height in twin room), chest of drawers and bedside cabinets with lamps. All bed linen and bath towels (not beach) are included in your stay.
MAIN BATHROOM
Modern bathroom with full tiled double shower cubicle fitted with electric shower, wash hand basin set in roll top surround with storage cupboards below, WC and heated towel rail.
LOUNGE
The comfy lounge has a feature stone fireplace with gas fired coal effect burner and exposed lintel above, vaulted ceiling with timber beams, triple aspect windows and french doors leading to a stone patio and the garden. There are two sofas with ample seating for 6, central coffee table, reading lamp, Smart TV, DVD player and blue tooth radio.
GARDEN
The rear enclosed garden has been beautifully landscaped with a main patio seating area with stone wall and built in seating. There are attractively planted borders and steps or grass path that lead to a further area of lawned garden. Here you will find a timber built open summerhouse from where you can enjoy the spectacular views across the village and out to open sea. There is outside seating and table for 6, along with a BBQ for your use (coals not provided, please clean after use). A rotary dryer has been provided.
To the kitchen side of the property is a stone area with a small table and chairs, an ideal place to capture the morning sun. At the front of the property is parking for either one large car or two small cars (please do not block the lane, especially when neighbours cars are parked opposite), further parking can be found at the front of the church which is less than 5 mins walk away.
